Pictured below Jim is fabricating the Miller’s patented screens that will eventually be shipped to pulp and paper facility in Bennettsville, South Carolina. This screen has been found to be stronger and more effective in resisting blockages than conventional screens.
The patented curve slot design creates lower resistance to flow which allows for a smaller portion of the screen plate needed for open area. Therefore, more metal remains in the screen plate and thus creates a stronger surface.
The curved slot design allows sideways movement of material in the slots and this movement helps to prevent material from being lodged.
By varying the slot width and radius, Miller can control the maximum thickness and width of particulate allowed to pass through the screen and create a screen design that satisfies individual plant process requirements.
