Miller Mechanical Services, Inc. has developed and patented a curved slotted screen to be used in vessels. In field trials, this screen has been found to be stronger and more effective in resisting blockages than conventional screens.

The patented curve slot design creates lower resistance to flow which allows for a smaller portion of the screen plate needed for open area. Therefore, more metal remains in the screen plate and this creates a stronger surface.

The curved slot design allows sideways movement of material in the slots and this movement helps to prevent material from being lodged.

By varying the slot width and radius, MMSI can control the maximum thickness and width of particulate allowed to pass through the screen and create a screen design that satisfies individual plant process requirements.

The patented curved slot screen is manufactured using laser technology in cutting slots which are then machine finished.
