Reduce costs by maximizing your material use. Miller can nest your parts leaving as little as 3/16 between geometry to squeeze the most product from your material (in some instances, we can nest as tight as 1/8” apart). Shown in the photo below are blanks made from 0.125” thick (11ga) #304L stainless steel sheet. The sheet is stacked 2 layers high. This process will also reduce production costs with thin gauge materials. The ability to nest parts so close together without heat distortion to the material, and the ability to stack without welding the pieces together showcases Millers advantage over utilizing a laser or plasma process. The results are parts that are clean. They require very little if any finishing after cut (no slag removal, heat affected zone, very little if any burr), and parts that are also in a much flatter state than if cut with laser or plasma.
